LSETF/UNDP Vocational Training Program 2023-2024 for Young Nigerians
The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) is actively seeking applications from qualified individuals for the UNDP Vocational Training program 2023. This program is specifically aimed at young Nigerian students, graduates, and out-of-school individuals. The Training Centres and Skill Acquisition Centres have been established to empower the residents of Lagos by providing vocational training in various fields and areas of expertise. The goal is to enhance the skills and employability of participants and contribute to their personal and professional growth.
The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) will have an initial capital of N25 billion, which will be contributed by the Lagos State Government over a span of four years. However, the fund will also seek additional funding from various sources such as donor partners, development agencies, corporate organizations, and individuals. The primary focus of LSETF is to promote entrepreneurship by enhancing access to finance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This includes improving the institutional capacity of these enterprises and formulating policies that foster a conducive business environment within Lagos State. Additionally, the Fund will develop programs aimed at providing training and employment opportunities for unemployed residents of Lagos. It will also emphasize initiatives that drive innovation within the Lagos ecosystem, encouraging the development of new ideas and technologies.
The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) was created under The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Law of 2016. Its primary objective is to offer financial assistance to the residents of Lagos State, with the aim of promoting job creation, fostering wealth generation, and facilitating career development. The LSETF plays a crucial role in supporting individuals and businesses in Lagos by providing them with the necessary resources to enhance their livelihoods and contribute to the economic growth of the state.
