The University of Basel’s Biozentrum PhD Fellowships Program is presently accepting applications. The program offers prestigious and highly coveted fellowships, and encourages young scientists from around the world who are talented, ambitious, and highly motivated to apply.

The fellowships provide several benefits, including direct entry into the PhD program at the Biozentrum, University of Basel, financial assistance, the opportunity to rotate through research groups, and support for attending scientific conferences and courses while pursuing the PhD.

The Werner Siemens-Foundation and the University of Basel sponsor the fellowships to identify and support exceptionally talented graduate students in Life Sciences. Requirements and Eligibility Criteria for the University of Basel Biozentrum PhD Fellowships:

Applicants must be international students
You must hold or expect soon a university degree that qualifies you for a PhD program at the University of Basel (MSc and equivalent).
In exceptional cases, outstanding students with a 4-year bachelor’s degree, typically from outside the Bologna system, are also eligible to apply. These will be able to complete a Master’s program on a fast-track at the University of Basel as part of their fellowship.
In order to be eligible to receive the fellowship, candidates can neither be enrolled as a PhD student at the University of Basel nor have signed a PhD working contract at the University of Basel at the decision date of the respective fellowship call.
