IFAD Agrihub Youth Agripreneurship Apprentice Program (YAAP) in Nigeria 2023
The Youth Agripreneurship Apprentice Program (YAAP) is being offered to ambitious and driven Nigerian youth by the IFAD Agrihub Nigeria project in collaboration with BIC Farms Concepts. The aim of this program is to help individuals become self-employed or obtain employment within the agricultural sector.
The project seeks to enhance the quality of life of young people in rural communities by means of multiple initiatives. Agrihub’s inclusive model is designed to offer opportunities to individuals with limited educational backgrounds.
The IFAD Agrihub project, in collaboration with BIC Farms Concepts, is offering a comprehensive program on soilless vegetable farming to stimulate the interest of young people in agriculture. The program consists of classroom instruction, hands-on field experience, and internship opportunities. By participating in the training, eligible candidates can learn how to start their own businesses or secure employment in the agricultural sector.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria IFAD Agrihub Youth Agripreneurship Apprentice Program (YAAP):
- Beneficiaries should be between the ages of 18 and 29.
- Youth must be passionate about agriculture, especially renewable energy solutions relating to agriculture and its value chain.
- The beneficiary must be unemployed when applying.
- Beneficiaries must possess at least a junior or senior secondary school certificate and be literate in English or the local language.
- Applicants resident in Siun/Ogere and Abeokuta, Ogun state (locations of the training facility) will be given preference.
- Applicants must have access to a functioning mobile phone.
- Participants must be physically and mentally fit to participate in all aspects of the training. Applicants with specific disabilities are also encouraged to apply. However, this must be clearly communicated during the application period.
- Applicants must be ready to commit three months to this program.
- Applicants must be willing to undergo an internship in relevant machine fabrication companies.
- Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
