The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships 2025 to undertake a one-year master’s, postgraduate diploma, or doctoral study in Ireland’s higher education institutions are hereby offered by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) to appropriately qualified candidates.

The HEA Scholarship brings talented people from different sectors and backgrounds with the view to making society a better place for everyone in Ireland and around the world. The GOI-IES is a renowned program of the Irish Government that provides 60 scholarships every year for students from the list of countries having EU/EEA membership. These scholarships are intended to attract gifted and talented students to come to study in Ireland for cultural and academic value. Each scholarship encompasses full tuition fee remission for the program and a stipend of €10,000 for one year only. The targeted population must undertake a full-time master’s degree or one year of a PhD in an Irish HEI.

Requirements and eligibility criteria;

To be considered for the International Education Scholarships 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrate a record of outstanding academic achievement.
  • Show excellent communication skills.
  • Evidence of participation in extracurricular activities. For example: humanitarian work; politics, either local, national, or international; arts; sports.
  • Possess a strong rationale for pursuing their study in Ireland that indicates how a GOI-IES aligns with their longer-term goals.

Application Procedures  (How to apply);

Interested applicants for the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships 2025 are to submit their application via the online application portal on or before the application deadline.

All applications require two references to be uploaded by the applicants via the online portal. It is recommended that candidates submit their applications well before the deadline to avoid technical issues due to heavy server traffic on the respective day. Applications cannot be submitted once the deadline has passed. No alterations can be made to an application once it has been submitted.
