Applicants from developing countries are hereby called upon to apply for seats in undergraduate and postgraduate studies under the UNESCO/China Great Wall Scholarship in China. This prestigious scholarship program is to promote and enable the academic achievements of talented persons from invited member states.

The UNESCO/China Great Wall Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship program for international students who wish to study undergraduate, master’s, or PhD in one of the top Chinese universities.

The UNESCO/China Great Wall Scholarship has its origins in 2012, and it was initiated as a UNESCO/People’s Republic of China South-South cooperation project. Since its creation, its goal has been to foster and enhance international relations in the fields of education, culture, science, and technology, offering exceptional students” chances to obtain undergraduate, master, and doctorate degrees in the leading Chinese universities. In its years of existence, the scholarship has achieved a goal of making many students accomplish quality education as well as enhance global harmony and development of their related countries.

Requirements and eligibility;

To be considered for the UNESCO/China Great Wall Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants applying for general scholar programs must hold a high school diploma and should not be older than forty-five years.
  • Applicants applying for senior scholar programs must hold a master’s degree or an associate professor position (or above) and not be older than fifty years.
  • English language proficiency is required for courses taught in English, while candidates applying for a Chinese-taught program as a general or senior visiting scholar must have Chinese proficiency at HSK Level 4.
  • Applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically.

Application Procedures;

Interested applicants for the UNESCO-China Great Wall Scholarship 2025 must carefully read the application guidelines for the UNESCO/China Co-Sponsored Fellowships to understand the requirements and thereafter proceed to contact the National Commission for UNESCO in their home country to inquire about licensing procedures at the national level.

Applicants must submit their online application together with the required supporting documents in the application portal and also submit the online application form and the supporting documents to the National Commission for UNESCO in their home country.
