Mastercard Foundation AfOx 2023 Scholarships for Africans to Study at Oxford
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, in collaboration with the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx), is welcoming applications from well-qualified young Africans interested in pursuing studies at the University of Oxford for the academic session of 2024.
The collaboration aims to offer a fully-funded opportunity for 400 young African scholars to pursue taught Masters degrees. It is designed to assist African students in accessing opportunities at Oxford and to ensure their success both during and after their tenure at the University.
The Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholarship program champions enthusiastic, locally grounded, and globally aware African youth in pursuing graduate studies at the University of Oxford. This scholarship is an integral component of the broader AfOx Graduate Scholars Program, providing funding for a comprehensive one-year taught Master’s course at Oxford. The goal is to empower scholars with essential technical, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills, connecting them to premier resources in their respective fields. Upon completing their Master’s Program, scholars receive support for 4-6 months placements in prominent Africa-based organizations during their Ubuntu Period of Service.
