Makerere University 2024 Mastercard Foundation Graduate Scholarship
Applications are now invited from suitably qualified candidates who are interested in pursuing undergraduate and master’s program at Makerere University for the 2024 Mastercard Foundation Graduate Scholarship.
The Mastercard Foundation scholarship aims to deepening inclusive University education and train the youths to change into leaders who will make meaningful inputs to national and regional development.
Mastercard Foundation renewed its partnership with Makerere University for the second stage of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program spanning from 2023 to 2034. The second phase of the Program will offer 1000 Scholarships for 10 years, for both Undergraduate and Master’s Academic Programmes at the Makerere University Main Campus.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for the Mastercard Foundation Graduate Scholarship:
- The applicant must be qualifying for admission at Makerere University-Main Campus, for the Master’s Degree Programme. Therefore, all applicants should apply for admission at Makerere University and, only those Applicants that shall be admitted at Makerere University shall be considered eligible for the Scholarship Selection process.
- The Applicant must have completed the Bachelor’s Degree Studies in an African Country
- Applications are restricted to individuals facing significant financial hardships.
- Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential and a record of community service
- Applicants should not be holders of any other Scholarship.
- Applicants should not have registered for/completed any other master’s studies.
- The Applicant should not exceed 35 years of age at the time of the deadline of the Application.
- Applicants under the category of Refugees and Students with Disabilities should not exceed 40 years of age at the time of the deadline of the Application.
- A refugee applicant must be a recognized and registered refugee with proof (refugee attestation) attached to the application form.

Interested applicants for the Mastercard Foundation Graduate Scholarship at Makerere can apply for the scholarship directly by visiting the application portal.
Applicants can also download the PDF version of the Application form, print, fill in and hand deliver the hard copy form to the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University Offices located at Plot 144, Pool Road, Makerere University.
Applicants may choose to send the completed form as an attachment through makscholarsapplications@gmail.com.
