The Quantum Leap Africa PhD Scholarship in Data Science for the 2023/24 academic session is open for applications from eligible African candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in Data Science

AIMS has established a doctoral training program that will enable up-and-coming African scientists to conduct cutting-edge research in data science and pursue a PhD degree within a top-notch training program in Africa, in collaboration with international institutions.

Quantum Leap Africa (QLA) was established by the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) with the aim of promoting high-impact research in data science, smart systems engineering, and quantum information to drive the IT revolution. In addition, QLA is responsible for training the next generation of information science and technology innovators. AIMS currently operates scientific centers of excellence in six African countries, including South Africa, Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Tanzania, and Rwanda. For the past 15 years, AIMS has been providing exceptional postgraduate training to the brightest math, science, and engineering graduates in Africa, thereby producing a pool of talented young African scientists.
