U.S. – West Africa 2024 Tech Challenge

The selected winning solutions will be implemented for the benefit of countries in Coastal West Africa. However, it is important to note that this Call for Submissions is open to organizations based and headquartered across the entire African continent.

The U.S. – West Africa Tech Challenge 2024 is a collaborative effort sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Global Engagement Center, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Abidjan, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy of Cote d’Ivoire, the United Nations Development Programme, She Code Africa, Impact Hub Abidjan, and Becera. Up to three organizations will be chosen as winners of the challenge, and they will collectively receive a total of $250,000 USD in funding. The challenge will take place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on September 27-28, 2023, as a two-part event. The first part will involve a demo day where selected technologists showcase their solutions, while the second part will comprise panel discussions and exchanges among technologists, government officials, civil society representatives, academia, and the media. The goal of the second part is to share insights, lessons learned, and explore opportunities for collaboration in addressing the challenges at hand.
