Recruitment by the Australian Government for Construction Laborers (Including Visa and $10,000 Incentive)

The Australian Government is excited to introduce the Construction Visa Subsidy Program (CVSP), aimed at recruiting construction workers willing to relocate to Australia. This initiative aims to alleviate the labor shortage in the Australian construction industry.

The Australian Government is offering a compelling package that includes free visa support services and financial incentives of up to $10,000 in Australian dollars. This initiative is designed to encourage and facilitate the relocation of construction workers from other countries to Australia, where they can contribute to the country’s construction industry.

The Construction Visa Subsidy Program (CVSP) represents a flagship effort by the Australian Government to address the workforce needs of Western Australian construction companies. Through this program, grant payments of up to $10,000 will be made available to support skilled migration visa options for workers. This financial assistance can be used to cover various expenses such as migration agent fees, visa application costs, and relocation expenses.

The program offers two main pathways: one for Western Australian employers (CVSP Employer Sponsored Stream) and another for independent skilled migrants (CVSP State Nominated Stream). This provides flexibility for both employers and individual workers looking to participate in the program.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for the Construction Visa Subsidy Program:

  • Be sponsored by a CVSP employer as a skilled migrant in one of the following visa subclasses – 482, 494 or 186;
  • Sponsored CVSP employer must be headquartered and undertaking building and construction work in Western Australia.
  • Be granted a visa through the WA State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP) in one of the following visa subclasses – 190 or 491;
  • Be employed by a business headquartered and undertaking building and construction work in WA; and
