Monash University 2024 Research Training Program (RTP) Fees-Offset is now available for applications from outstanding and motivated students who wish to enroll for Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees in the University.
International students can only be awarded RTP Fees-Offset as part of a competitive selection process. Monash scholarships are very competitive and are awarded based on your academic record, any research outputs and prior research experience.
The Monash University Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships are provided by the Australian Government to support both domestic and international students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for the Monash Research Training Program:
- Applicants must be either an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian humanitarian visa holder, An International student
- Meet the eligibility criteria for admission to a research degree (domestic students only);
- Meet Monash’s competitive scholarship selection process requirements (international students only); and
- Meet Monash English language proficiency requirements.
- Note that RTP Fees-Offsets cannot be transferred between higher education providers.

- Course tuition fees; and
- A single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) policy for international students.

Application Procedures for the Monash Research Training Program (How to Apply):
Application for graduate research scholarships is done at the time of applying for your course, unless you are already enrolled. Whether you are a new or current student, the same application process is used for both admission and/or scholarship via our Applicant Portal. You do not need to specify which scholarship you are applying as you are automatically considered for all graduate research scholarships (where eligible).
Domestic students applying for a RTP Fees Offset only and not a living allowance scholarship (such as a RTP Stipend) do not need to submit an application for a scholarship.
