Iso Lomso Fellowship 2025 for Early Career Researchers
Early career African scholars from all disciplines are hereby encouraged to apply for the Iso Lomso Fellowship 2025. However, prospective candidates must have earned the PhD within the last seven years and should be affiliated with an African university or research institution, in addition to completing post-doctoral training or an equivalent program after the PhD. They should also have an already set research program.
The Iso Lomso Fellowship provides scholars with a three-year residential research opportunity in STIAS where they are afforded the chance to fully choose their distant research projects. Fellows will have residential periods, agreed upon with their home institution and STIAS, with the first residency taking place in 2026, followed by two more through 2028. During their time at STIAS, fellows receive fully funded residency and research support to help them succeed.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a national of any African country.
- Born after January 1, 1983.
- Affiliated with a research or higher education institution in an African country, with plans to continue in the foreseeable future.
- Hold a doctoral degree from a recognized institution obtained after January 1, 2017.
- Completed a post-doctoral fellowship or equivalent post-PhD research program.
- Able to begin a first residency period at STIAS in 2026.
- Open to all academic disciplines.
