Those who would like to apply for the 2025/2026 Federal Government Scholarship Awards are hereby informed that it’s being offered by the Federal Scholarship Board in conjunction with the Federal Government of Nigeria. This prestigious scholarship program aims at assisting such a deserving Nigerian and giving him/her the power to achieve his/her dreams academically in a foreign country.

The Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Awards are offered at all levels of study, undergraduate and postgraduate. There are different undergraduate scholarships available, which can be taken in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt, and Algeria. For postgraduate studies, the chance is available in Russia, China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania. All types of scholarships allow studying in the best world universities for partner countries.

The BEA Scholarship program was established many years before to create an opportunity for education improvement and cooperation. It is contained in a recent bilateral Nigerian policy on cultural and educational cooperation between Nigeria and its counterparts. The program has helped tens of thousands of Nigerian students meet their academic dreams and also serve the nation’s and indeed the world’s needs.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria;

To be considered for the Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • All undergraduate applicants must possess a minimum qualification of Seven (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June), only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study, including English Language and Mathematics. Certificates should not be more than (2) years old (2023 & 2024) for non-African countries, and for African countries the age of the certificate is one year (2024) only. The age limit is from 17 to 20 years.
  • All postgraduate applicants must hold a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division. All applicants must have completed the NYSC program, and the age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for PhD.
  • Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign language course of the country of choice, which will be the standard medium of instruction.
  • All applicants for Hungarian Scholarships can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference and must visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu, which was opened in mid-November 2024 to closed on 15th January 2025. Complete the application form online.
  • All applicants for the Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st degree in Russia.

Application Procedures (How to apply);

Interested applicants for the Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarship 2025 are to visit the Federal Ministry of Education’s website and click on the Federal Scholarship Board icon on the home page; read the guidelines, and then complete the application form online.

All applicants are to upload the following certificates online
  • UNDERGRADUATE (UG): WAEC/WASSCE
  • POSTGRADUATE (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, Masters Degree WAEC/WASSCE, Indigene letter, & NYSC discharge certificate.

NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will be required to submit to the Federal Scholarship Board the following:

  • Authenticated copies of academic certificates;
  • Data page of the current International passport;
  • Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals;
  • Birth Certificate & Indigenous letter
  • Police clearance certificate where necessary.
  • All applicants for Russia should visit the website http://education-in-Russia.com, which is open.
