Australian Government 2023 Direct Aid Program
The Australian Embassy is welcoming applications from appropriately skilled individuals for the Direct Aid Program (DAP), which aims to financially support projects in the African countries where the embassy is recognized.
The DAP provides assistance to both global and regional non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society groups, and other grassroots organizations that are active in the African nations. Its objective is to back initiatives that emphasize development and human rights, aligning with Australia’s overarching aid objectives. These projects also play a role in fostering lasting economic advancement and diminishing poverty.
The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a versatile initiative offering modest grants, financially supported by the Australian Government and overseen by its overseas diplomatic missions through the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT). The primary goal of DAP initiatives is to deliver prompt, tangible, and significant developmental results directly benefiting the communities they serve.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for the Australian Government Direct Aid Program:
- Applicants must be NGOs, civil society organisations and other not-for-profit organisations in the eligible countries of accreditation in Africa.
- Applicants engaging in development and human rights activities in the Embassy’s countries of accreditation.
Application Procedures for the Australian Government Direct Aid Program (How to Apply):
Prospective candidates seeking assistance from the Australian Government’s Direct Aid Program must submit an online application before the stipulated deadline. It is advised that applicants review the DAP Guidelines prior to commencing the application process.
