Applications are now accepted from applicants from all African countries to apply for admission to study for the Master’s degree 2024 (LLM/MPhil) in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, South Africa.
The LLM/MPhil in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa (HRDA) is a great one-year intensive course where 25-30 exceptional applicants spend six months in Pretoria and six months at one of the 12 partner universities all over Africa.
The Global Campus of Human Rights is an EU-funded global network of universities based on cooperation between seven Regional Programmes which are based in Venice for Europe, in Sarajevo/Bologna for South East Europe, in Yerevan for the Caucasus, in Pretoria for Africa, in Bangkok for Asia-Pacific, in Buenos Aires for Latin America and the Caribbean, and in Beirut for the Arab world.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for the Master’s degree (LLM/MPhil) in Human Rights:
- Applicants must come from African region
- Applicants for Master’s degree (LLM/MPhil) in Human Rights
- Applicants must be ready to enrol in full-time program
- Graduates become members of the HRDA Alumni Association whose 537 members are currently active in the full spectrum of human rights work
- Applicants must be in possession of the first degree in Law (LLB, licence en droit or licenciatura em direito) or an Honours degree relevant to human rights and democratisation.
- Applicants from all African countries are invited to apply for admission to study for the Master’s degree (LLM/MPhil) in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Application Procedures for the Master’s degree (LLM/MPhil) in Human Rights (How to Apply):
Applications for the programme to study at the University of Pretoria are fully online. All applications are handled via the online system Submittable. All documents uploaded must be typewritten.

- Previous degree certificate(s)
- Copy of bio-data page of passport
- A good quality photograph of yourself
