The Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) is delighted to declare the initiation of the application process for the AREF Research Development Fellowship 2023/24. This fellowship aims to offer talented health researchers in Africa the chance to enhance their abilities and expertise.

The primary objective of these fellowships is to provide successful fellows with the platform to nurture their own research concepts, enhance their research skills and capabilities, foster research collaborations through mentorship and collaboration, and make progress towards developing a significant research funding proposal.

The Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) is a pioneering initiative aimed at supporting and promoting scientific research excellence in Africa. Established in 2015, AREF focuses on building the capacity of African researchers and institutions to address the continent’s most pressing health challenges. By providing grants and fellowships, AREF enables researchers to pursue innovative and impactful projects, ranging from basic science to clinical trials and implementation research.
