Are you an aspiring Leader who is moved to expand your knowledge and global experience? Then here is an opportunity for you to be a part of the U.S. Department of State 2024 Professional Fellowship for Africans and get to collaborate with leaders across Africa and the US.

It focuses on exchanging and implementing best practices for inclusive civic engagement. Every year, the program typically supports approximately 12 mid-career disability rights professionals (Fellows) from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Ethiopia to participate in a five-week Fellowship Program in the US.

This Professional Fellows Program is a fully funded scheme which is funded by the US Department of State to aid emerging leaders in Africa with focus on exchanging, and implementing best practices.

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for the US Department of State Professional Fellowship:

  • Be between 25 and 40 as of the first day of the Fellowship program
  • Citizens and resident of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, or Ethiopia.
  • Applicants must be eligible to receive a US J-1 visa
  • Be proficient in spoken and written English
  • Minimum of two years of professional work experience
  • Ability to travel to the US for the five-week program duration
