Requirements and eligibility;
To be considered for the Fully Funded David Sainsbury Scholarships, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be in receipt of an offer of a place on the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health.
- You are a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, version 2024-25, for entry in the 2025-26 academic year.
- Must have obtained a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- Must demonstrate excellent academic and research abilities.
Application Procedures;
Interested applicants for the David Sainsbury MSc Scholarship are to apply for admission into the master’s program at the University of East Anglia for the 2025/26 academic session. Applicants will be considered for the scholarship provided they meet the eligibility criteria on a competitive basis. No separate application is required.
Applicants should note that they will be evaluated for the scholarship based on the same criteria used to evaluate your application to enroll in the course. The criteria are: academic achievement and academic awards together with knowledge/experience/potential of molecular biology, genetics, molecular interactions, data science such as bioinformatics and statistics, laboratory skills, and independent study.

- Maintenance grant (exact value at the UKRI postgraduate researcher stipend level to be determined for 2025-26; in 2024-23 it was £19,237).
