UBC is accepting applications for the 2024 Outstanding International Student Award, which is for exceptional international students who demonstrate high academic achievement and are seeking admission to study at the university.

The Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award is a one-time, merit-based entrance scholarship awarded to qualified students when they are offered admission to UBC. Students selected for this award show strength academically and display involvement outside of the classroom

Requirement and Eligibility Criteria for the University of British Columbia Outstanding International Student Award:

• Be new to UBC, entering directly from secondary school or post-secondary (university or college).
• Be an international student studying at UBC on a Canadian study permit (student visa). (Changes to your citizenship status will affect your scholarship eligibility)
• Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and strong extracurricular involvement.
• Not be nominated for a need-and-merit-based International Scholars.

Application Procedures for the University of British Columbia Outstanding International Student Award (How to Apply):

For those applying for the UBC Outstanding International Student Award, it’s important to highlight that by submitting their application to UBC by January 15, they will be automatically included in the consideration for the OIS.

Furthermore, candidates will undergo evaluation for this scholarship shortly after receiving an admission offer from UBC. The scholarship decisions are typically finalized between mid-March and the end of April annually.
